Budd Lake is a community located within Mount Olive Township, in Morris County, New Jersey. Budd Lake is also the largest natural lake in New Jersey that the community is named after and is the source of the South Branch Raritan River. Budd Lake was named for John Budd, who acquired 1,300 acres of land in the area in 1714 and prior to that it was called Hattacawanna Lake.
